ELECTRONIC CERTIFICATE OF MEDICAL NECESSITY (e-CMN)
What is e-CMN? e-CMN is an automated, electronic version of the same paper form used in physician's offices today. Because it is automated and paperless, e-CMN is more time efficient and cost effective for your practice, freeing up your staff to focus on the issues that are most important to you.
How does it work?
After Olean General Healthcare receives your referral, you will be notified via e-mail that an e-CMN is waiting to be completed-then, it's as easy as 1 ... 2 ... 3!
Access the e-CMN server via a secure Internet site Complete the e-CMN Electronically sign the e-CMN Automatic processing takes place the moment the physician completes the electronic signature process.
What is required? To make the e-CMN work for your practice, you will need:
-Access to the Internet (the faster the Internet connection speed, the better) -At least a 200-megahertz PC with the following software installed: -Internet Explorer Version 5.5 (upgradeable, generally at no charge) -Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® 5.0 (available free at www.adobe.com) -Password-protected electronic signature verification for the physician-registration is available online -The technology behind the TracMedSM solution allows the physician and his/her staff to access e-CMNs from any location where the above criteria is met!
What about patient privacy? e-CMN is secure and HIPAA compliant. All e-CMN information is accessed via secure, encrypted Internet technology and complies with all current/pending patient privacy and confidentiality regulations as of May 2002.
